RECONSTRUCTION of a production building
Location
Leningrad Region
Area
2,133 m2
The project to expand the existing production facility twofold with a building extension. The product is a heat-shrinkable film that is applied to food, household chemicals and cosmetics containers.

The film is made by applying organically soluble gravure inks to the PVC film and bonding the edges of the label to each other in a sleeve.

We studied the process in detail and proposed several important improvements. First, we automated everything that was possible. The reduction in manual work made it possible to optimise staffing and not to recruit new people – the new production facility will be staffed by employees from the old workshop.

Second, we studied the main problem of defects and how to minimize their number. The main problem is vibration, which causes uneven imaging. To damp down the vibrations, we included an anti-vibration floor in the project and gave the task to the designers.

Third, we optimised the production line and positioned the equipment so that there was room to expand production.

Finally, we took care of the production safety. We analysed concentration of hazardous substances in the air of the old production facility, carried out calculations and installed gas discharge units to clean the emissions. The air discharged into the atmosphere is purified by up to 99%, so that the facility is as environmentally friendly as possible.
