RCRI operating theater is a training ground for highly qualified oncology surgeons. Up to 10,000 surgeries are performed in the surgical unit each year.

The Institute carries out combined oncological surgical interventions such as pneumonectomies, pancreatogastroduodenal resections, pancreatectomies, esophageal extirpations, gastrectomies, hemicolectomies, hemihepatectomies, cystectomies, pelvic evisceration, upper and lower jaw resections with orbital exenteration and others.

A thorough overhaul of the operating theater unit was planned in 2015. We developed the reconstruction and reequipment of three operating theaters.

During the renovation, we cooperated closely with the doctors working in the clinic. From experience, the surgeons knew exactly what equipment would be most needed in their day-to-day practice.

We saw it as our task to redesign the rooms in such a way that the new equipment would be more convenient to use.

In an ergonomic space with a well-planned arrangement of equipment, there is no need for unnecessary activities, which is especially important in surgery, where every minute counts.
